The money

Thirteen clients. Then it is profit.

A Brite Lounge whitening session sells for $200 to $250. That is our price, in Winnipeg as anywhere in Canada.

The sum, in three lines.

  1. 01

One client uses one Advanced Kit. The kit is $37.45.

  2. 02

At $200 a session, that hour leaves you $162.55.

  3. 03

The light is $1,999.00. $1,999 divided by $162.55 is thirteen clients.

Thirteen. Not counting tax or freight, and not counting the foam and the pen you sell on the way out. The light has a lifetime warranty, so there is never a second one to buy.

What a year looks like

You keep $162.55 an hour. Here is the year.

$16,905 Two clients a week

104 sessions. One on a Saturday morning and one on a slow Tuesday.

$33,810 Four clients a week

208 sessions. Less than one a day on the days you are already open.

$42,263 One a day, five days

260 sessions. One hour of a chair you already pay rent on.

$200 a session less the $37.45 kit is $162.55. Multiply by the sessions. Tax, freight and the light are not in these figures, and the light is paid off inside the first thirteen clients.

And on the way out

She buys the After Care Foam for $16.05 and sells it for $30. The After Care Pen costs $18.20 and sells for $35. Hand her both at the till and that is another $30.75 from the same hour, and she comes back sooner because the result lasts.

The business in thirty seconds

Your city

You did 3,264 hours. This is an afternoon

Manitoba makes esthetician a compulsory certified trade: 3,264 hours over two levels, a theory exam and a practical exam. Coming in without an apprenticeship takes 4,800 hours and three years of experience before you can even sit it.

Statistics Canada counts 496 personal care businesses with staff in the Winnipeg area. 238 of them have one to four people and 147 have five to nine. Every one of them has an esthetician or stylist who already did the hard hours.

By size, the Winnipeg area breaks down like this: 238 rooms with one to four people, 147 with five to nine, 79 with ten to nineteen, and 32 with twenty or more. Even in Winnipeg, the small room is the biggest single group. Across every trade, the Winnipeg area has 26,921 businesses with staff, so about one in 54 is a hair, nail, skin or barber business.

You have already done the hard qualification. This one is twelve lessons and twenty written questions. What it adds is the one thing the hours did not cover, and it is the thing a client asks about.

Results your clients will show off.

Laura’s laser studio went quiet every summer, until she added whitening and summer became whitening season.

“It’s honestly one of my favourite services to provide. It’s instant results, and all my clients are always so happy. Partnering with you opened up a door so I could expand, and I am just very grateful.”

Laura, Honey Smooth Laser Studio, Kelowna

Real clients, one session each, photographed as they happened. Six to sixteen shades is the range the Advanced Kit is rated for.

What stops people

What usually stops people

"I have never done it."
Twelve lessons and two filmed treatments, start to finish.
"What if a client is sensitive?"
One supervised session in your chair, not a fortnight of trays at home. No gum barrier needed. Lesson nine is sensitivity.
"Is it regulated here?"
No Manitoba rule names cosmetic whitening either way. The Dental Association Act does not mention whitening (read it) and Manitoba Health's personal service list does not either (read it). We are your supplier, not your lawyer, so we will tell you that plainly instead of dressing it up. What we can tell you is what the product is: a cosmetic, under Health Canada's cosmetic rules, applied to the surface of the tooth, by a trained operator, with a signed consent form every time. Health Canada
"What if something goes wrong with an order?"
We fix it fast, and we tell you straight what happened. In their own words:

“Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate you taking care of this and arranging to send the replacement via overnight shipping.”

Philmar Garcia, Pro Beauty Group

“I appreciate your transparency and looking into it.”

PRIM Studio
"Am I allowed?"
Yes. No Manitoba rule names it either way. It is a cosmetic, on the surface of the tooth, applied by a trained operator, and every client signs a consent form.
